The MALAYSIA SME® Congress 2014 saw the Telekom Malaysia (TM) booth garner the attention of many visitors and participants. A returning participant at the Congress, TM this time around offered products and services which were designed into four main themes. In line with TM’s tagline of ‘Business Made Easier’, their services are well-catered for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) which have needs in utilising IT and value-added service solutions. The themes were market reach, office solutions, communication reach and customer experience. Being Malaysia’s most trusted and reliable end-to-end ICT solutions provider, TM hopes to be able to assist local businesses by participating in the MALAYSIA SME® Congress.
A crowd of various businesspersons gathered around the DHL Express Malaysia booth at the recent MALAYSIA SME® Congress 2014 with business owners being briefed on the latest offerings from the delivery service provider. Getting to know more about the small and medium enterprises (SMEs), what is affecting them, the market situation and to get business contacts for further collaboration, the booth also conducted a lucky draw to the delight of the crowd. Some of the services provided by DHL and shared with the SME owners that day in the Setia City Convention Centre included a shipment insurance which was well-received by the audience as most of these businesses deal with high-value products.
“Transferring such products overseas can be a worrying ordeal especially over long distances, and as such, DHL offered this option for SME owners to have. The shipment insurance would be useful for them to make a worry-free decision in sending their goods out for transit.” Instead of lowering prices, which can be detrimental as there are other delivery players out there, DHL instead focused on giving SME-specific services, specifically tailored in order to suit their business requirements.
At the Congress, Epson managed to reach out to many SMEs to offer them encouragement and education in using their products. Comparisons in consumption costs from product to product and brand to brand were also carried out in front of Congress visitors. Not usually showcased at any shop or storefront, these comparative demonstrations were able to present to SMEs a clear picture and physical proof about how much they can significantly save if they were to use, or continue using, Epson products – even paint cartridges.
As the method which SMEs manage themselves with would undoubtedly differ from large corporations, Epson’s specifically developed products can cater to certain cost-saving options that these smaller businesses need. Showcasing them at the Congress was an eye-opener to many who expressed interest in the products for their affordability, low consumption of natural resources and long-life. Through this event, Epson hoped to have sealed their imprint on the SME market.
The product familiarisation programs conducted during the Congress was carried out by Wheelcorp Premium Auto, BMW’s premium partner in the Setia Alam area. Sharing about the added technologies and superior programs of the dynamic car, BMW staffs had their hands full. These technological enhancements make BMW’s premium sedans a frontrunner in the luxury segment. This coupled with the right product portfolio which serves its segment completely, sets BMW apart from its competitors. The success of BMW can be attributed to the leading innovations of BMW ConnectedDrive and BMW EfficientDynamics that have long been touted for their strengths and capabilities. Thank you Wheelcorp Premium Auto dealer principal Jayden Liew for sharing us of a successful entrepreneur ride at the MALAYSIA SME® Congress 2014.
Many potential customers could be seen flocking to the BMW booth during the recent MALAYSIA SME® Congress 2014 at Setia City Convention Centre. As most of the visitors were owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), BMW promoted their corporate programme. Interested booth participants salivated over the new eye-catching Gran Coupe on display and were told about the programme which got many of them interested. The programme rewards customers who purchased a car and who want to enjoy more discounts and benefits.
Visitors were told in more detail, for example, if a company were to buy four cars from BMW, they would actually get a 4% discount as a benefit from the car maker. Signing up for the programme is free and this benefit is not something regular customers get. Apart from sharing about the priority BMW corporate fleet customers enjoy, there was also another BMW booth which allowed visitors to sign up for test driving. An assortment of luxurious cars was on hand for testing, like the BMW 1 Series, BMW X1, BMW 328 and BMW 328i GT. Thank you BMW Malaysia for supporting and making MALAYSIA SME® Congress a success.
The congress is beneficial to all because you get all the top SMEs under one roof in one location to share their experiences and what really they have gone through to become with they are today to really help all the SMEs out there to become more productive. As for me, the entrepreneurs do not really have to look far to find inspiration as they can just get inspiration from hearing or get to know other successful stories and they should question themselves – If they can, why I can’t?. Being SME does not mean that you can only be small as a lot of big corporate started as SMEs, this is the real inspiration.””SMEs in Malaysia are undoubtedly acted as the engine of growth, just like any other countries. They play a critical role in maintaining the economy in our country.
The opportunity is anywhere whether it is local or be it from any other parts of the world. Inspiring the SMEs to excel is actually coming from within themselves, the culture itself. There is a need for a self-sustaining culture of being innovative. As they become innovative, they see success, and it applies to all – being innovative in creating your products, sales and marketing. It is actually a self-inspiring culture that needs to be nurtured from time to time. Of course, as far as the government is concerned, there is a lot of development agendas with the governments had launched or still looking forward to launch to create the right atmosphere, to bring the right assistance for SMEs for their own survival. It is a good step to create a diverse and technology driven culture that will definitely benefit the SMEs as this can push them to the next level. The government is actually trying to change the mindset of the SMEs but it is actually up to the SMEs themselves.”
“When they see themselves as being innovative, this will change the whole thing, because eventually this will lead to increasing sales, and other good things will come along too. By then, they are constantly looking forward to challenge themselves and keep on inspiring others.
